Strengthening Regional Community Sport 2024 to 2027
Strengthening Regional Community Sport 2024 to 2027 will provide grants to support delivery of local, ‘place based’, strategic projects that help to increase participation on and off the sporting field, and build a variety of stronger, more resilient, self-sufficient and sustainable sports across regional Victoria.
Grant amount
Funding of up to $300,000 over 3 years (2024–25 to 2026–27) is available to eligible organisations.

Program guidelines
Eligibility
Applications are accepted from:
- Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised Victorian State Sporting Associations (SSAs)*
- Sport and Recreation Victoria recognised State Sport and Active Recreation Bodies (SSARBs)** who are the pre-eminent governing body for a disability sport in Victoria. For avoidance of doubt, these are:
- Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria
- Deaf Sports and Recreation Victoria
- Disability Sport and Recreation
- Disabled WinterSport Australia
- Riding for the Disabled Association of Victoria
- Paralympics Australia - Victoria
- Special Olympics Victoria
- Sport Inclusion Australia, Victorian Branch.
* The list of recognised Victorian sport and recreation organisations can be found in the Our sector section of our website.
** These organisations must be affiliated to the National Sporting Organisation for people with Disability, recognised by the Australian Sports Commission. A list can be found on the Australian Sport Commission website.
Applicant organisations must also meet the detailed eligibility criteria set out under section ‘2. Who can apply?’ in the Program Guidelines.
Dates
Applications are open now and will close at 11:59 pm on Monday 9 September 2024.
Funding
Funding of up to $300,000 over 3 years (2024–25 to 2026–27) is available to eligible organisations.
How to apply
Eligible organisations may submit one application using the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) online grants portal.
Recognised organisations will receive an email with information to support the application process, including:
- the link to apply through the online grants portal
- a mandatory template to be completed and attached as part of the application
- a list of all other mandatory attachments.
Make sure you have the information you need on hand including required documents and click on ‘Start new application’ to submit your application through the online grants portal.

Please quote the application number received upon submission of your application in all correspondence relating to your application.
Application Assessment
Applications will be assessed in accordance with the assessment criteria and process set out in the program Guidelines.
Assessment will commence on conclusion of the application period with organisations notified of the outcome of their application by the end of November 2024.
Information Session
Prospective applicants and project partners are strongly encouraged to attend the online information session organised by Sport and Recreation Victoria on Wednesday 10 July 2024 at 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.
An email invitation for the session will be sent to SRV recognised organisations.
