Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund
Round 2 of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (the Fund) is a competitive Victorian Government investment program, open to Victorian rural and regional Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria.

Program guidelines
Backed by the Victorian Government’s $2 billion Regional Package, the Fund aims to deliver new and upgraded community sports infrastructure across 5 streams:
- Indoor Stadiums and Aquatic Facilities
- Community Facilities
- Women and Girls Facilities
- Planning
- All Abilities Infrastructure.
Applicants to any infrastructure stream may also apply for a grant of up to $50,000 for All Abilities Participation initiative funding to conduct participation programs for people with disability at the funded facility.
The Fund is underpinned by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions’ priorities to create more opportunities for people through skills and jobs, help businesses and industries to thrive, and build vibrant communities and regions.

Round 2
- Applications open – 28 October 2024
- Applications close – 5 pm, 17 March 2025
- Outcomes announced – from July 2025.
Eligibility
Only rural and regional Victorian Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria are eligible to apply to the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.
Rural and regional Victoria is defined as the 48 local government areas set out in Schedule 2 of the Regional Development Victoria Act 2002, including alpine resort areas.
Application process
Process for clubs/local organisations
Regional Sports Assemblies, sport and recreation clubs, sporting associations and leagues, educational institutions, community organisations, disability service providers, businesses and individuals cannot directly apply to the Fund.
The Community Organisation Expression of Interest Form has been developed to assist this process if Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria wish to use this.
Local clubs and organisations are advised to contact their Local Government Authority or Alpine Resorts Victoria if they wish to express interest, seek support or be involved as a partner in applications to the Fund.
Process for Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria
Local Government Authorities and Alpine Resorts Victoria must discuss potential applications with their Sport and Recreation Victoria contact to receive feedback on eligible projects before submitting application/s.
The application process will require the submission of an online application.

Outcomes
Successful applications to Round 2 of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund will be announced from July 2025.
