Published: 3 December 2025

Hawthorn Football Club are kicking goals with the launch of their brand-new elite facility which will become the new home for their AFL Men’s and Women's teams.

The Kennedy Community Centre, supported by a $15 million investment from the Victorian Government, was named in honour of one of the club’s greatest figures, John Kennedy.

Hawthorn’s new AFLW home ground oval includes a dedicated match day pavilion with a 500-seat grandstand, team change rooms, umpire change rooms, media facilities, coaches’ boxes and a function space.

The Centre also features the state-of-the-art Harris Elite Training and Administration Facility for both Hawthorn's women’s and men’s teams.

The site includes an:

  • MCG-sized oval
  • gymnasium
  • indoor training facility
  • wet and dry recovery facilities
  • administration space for all staff.

Over $150 million has been invested to help upgrade Australian football facilities across the state, providing elite facilities for all 10 Victorian clubs which also benefit the wider community.

This exciting step will help deliver the Hawthorn Football Club elite facilities for the club’s AFLW team, while creating a home base for the brown and gold and community members for many years to come.
