Winners crowned at 2025 VIS Awards of Excellence
Published: 18 November 2025Congratulations to the recently announced 2025 VIS Awards of Excellence winners and finalists.

The event is the night of nights for Victoria’s elite athletes to recognise and celebrate the achievements of their peers.
The prestigious Award of Excellence is presented to a VIS athlete who has achieved outstanding sporting results during the year and recognises the athlete’s contribution to the promotion and development of their sport.
The 2025 Award of Excellence was won by snowboarder Scotty James, claiming his third VIS Award of Excellence honour.
Other finalists for the award were:
- Alana Forster (Para-cycling)
- Emily Petricola OAM (Para-cycling).
Other winners on the night included:
- Hannah MacDougall (Para-triathlon) - 2XU Performance Lifestyle Award
- Lily Graham (Netball) - The Carbine Club Rising Star Award
- Alana Forster (Para-cycling) - Para Athlete Award
- Sarah Blicvas (Basketball) - Sarah Tait Spirit Award
- Tim Matthews OAM (Para-athletics) - The Frank Pyke Achievement Award.
The Victorian Government is providing $58.2 million to support the VIS over 4 years (2024-2028) to deliver programs and services to Victoria’s best athletes.
The VIS helps nurture and develop the current, and future, generation of elite Victorian athletes, and Australian sporting heroes.
