New look Bendigo Stadium revealed
Published: 7 September 2026Bendigo Stadium’s $27 million upgrade is complete, with new courts, better access and greener features for local sport.
The major redevelopment will support more local clubs and players and offers more space to train, compete and come together.
Two new indoor sports courts are now complete, creating more space for basketball, netball, volleyball and other indoor sports.
It will help meet growing demand, support more training and competition, and make it easier to host local tournaments and events.
New scoreboards and lighting will also improve the experience for players and spectators.
The redevelopment also makes the stadium more accessible and welcoming, with features including:
- fully accessible amenities and changing places facility
- accessible carparks at the entrance of the new indoor sports courts
- a new entrance connected to the existing stadium
- Dja Dja Wurrung artwork in partnership with DJAARA (Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation)
- ramps to courts 9 and 10
- automated access at the main entry.
Earlier improvements to the 12 outdoor netball courts, including upgraded and new lighting, mean more hours of training and play.
The redevelopment also includes sustainability features, including:
- solar panels
- rainwater harvesting
- energy-efficient lighting
- native landscaping
- smart ventilation
- a back-up generator to help keep the venue running during local outages.
We delivered the project with Bendigo Stadium Limited and the City of Greater Bendigo. Development Victoria oversaw delivery, and Fairbrother Pty Ltd led construction as head contractor.
We funded the upgrades through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.
