FIFA World Cup fever spreads across Victoria
Published: 11 June 2026Football fans across metropolitan and regional Victoria will be able to cheer on the Socceroos at live sites during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Victoria will host live sites across metropolitan and regional areas for Australians wanting to watch the Socceroos compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Regional sites will be located at:
- Hargreaves Mall, Bendigo
- Alfred Deakin Place at the Art Gallery of Ballarat
- Johnstone Park Forecourt, Geelong
- Gippsland Performing Arts Centre, Traralgon
- Shepparton Showgrounds, Shepparton.
Each regional site will kick off the tournament and show Australia’s opening match against Turkey on Sunday 14 June 2026.
Metropolitan live sites will be at AAMI Park and of course, Federation Square, an iconic spot for soccer fans.
Federation Square drew global attention during the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, with scenes of Victorian fans celebrating broadcast around the world.
With big screens, passionate crowds and a strong sense of community, the live sites will make sure the stadium atmosphere is felt no matter where you are.
The Socceroos will play three group-stage matches between Sunday 14 June and Friday 26 June, including against host nation the United States;
- Australia vs Turkey: Sunday 14 Jun 2pm AEST
- Australia vs USA: Saturday 20 June 5am AEST
- Australia vs Paraguay: Friday 26 June 12pm AEST
The regional live sites are also expected to give a welcome boost to regional economies, with locals and visitors gathering in town centers and supporting cafes, restaurants and pubs.
Fan safety will be a priority, with security measures in place, including fencing, entry gates, bag checks and hand-held screening wands to ensure everyone is enjoying a safe and welcoming environment.
