More grants to power up your sports club
Published: 13 July 2026Our Sporting Club Grants Program is helping local clubs stay on top of their game over the winter mid-season and beyond with support for new equipment, volunteer training and new events.

Applications are now open for the latest round - with a focus on helping Victorians get active and be part of a local club.
The Program helps clubs create more opportunities for players, coaches, volunteers and officials to get involved in the activities they love.
Grants of up to $5,000 are available for clubs to improve the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches and officials, as well as grants of up to $5,000 to help clubs deliver new programs to the community.
Clubs can also apply for grants of up to $1,000 to purchase uniforms and equipment, and $750 travel grants are also available to participate in competitions away from home.
Previous recipients include Ferntree Gully Eagles Junior Football Club, scoring $1,000 towards new goal post padding to improve player safety and provide impact protection during games and training.
The Australian Skateboarding Federation received $5,000 to run six free skateboarding sessions for adults, including sessions just for women. Coaching and equipment is provided to support ongoing participation at local skateparks.
Ocean Racing Club of Victoria received over $4,600 to deliver its Keel Boat Introduction to Sailing Savvy program. The program provides women and girls with introductory training, mentoring and on-water sailing opportunities, helping them build confidence and develop the skills required to progress as keelboat sailors.
Golden Fish Synchronised Swimming Club in Footscray received $6,000 to support eight athletes to attend the 2026 Australian Artistic Swimming Championships and the 2026 Oceania Championships in Sydney, helping reduce financial barriers to high-level competition.

Four of those Golden Fish athletes have since been selected for the Junior National squad for further training with one making it into the Australian team competing in the World Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships later this year in Budapest.
The Program is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund and has injected more than $21.6 million into the community and supported thousands of clubs across the state – improving the experience of local community sport for everyone involved.
Applications for this round close 26 August 2026.
