Works roll out at Bendigo Bowls and Croquet Clubs
Published: 20 February 2026Redevelopment works to transform the Bendigo Bowls and Croquet Clubs are now underway.

Funded through the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, the redevelopment includes:
- refurbishment of 4 bowling greens including 2 with synthetic surfaces and lighting on 2 greens
- 2 competition size croquet lawns
- site accessibility and circulation improvements
- new carpark accessible from Barnard Street
- upgrades to the venue’s iconic bowls club house.
Once completed the popular club house will also feature a multi-purpose inclusive space – accessible to people of all ages and genders – offering more scope for community activities and introducing the sport to the wider community.
Construction is being led by Bendigo-based Searle Bros, supporting 45 local jobs and engaging 20 businesses to date. With over 90 years’ experience in the construction industry, Searle Bros have led projects including the Bendigo Tramways Expansion and Larni Garingilang at the Bendigo Botanic Gardens.
Works are expected to be completed in late 2026.
Partnering with the City of Greater Bendigo, the project is one of 16 across regional Victoria that are part of the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, making our communities even better places to live, work, stay and play.
