Shepparton BMX track to host 2028 UCI World Cup
Published: 21 April 2026Shepparton’s newly upgraded BMX Club has been announced as one of the hosts of the UCI BMX Racing World Cup in 2028.
To be held on 19 and 20 February 2028, the Shepparton venue will see some of the world’s best BMX riders competing in rounds 3 and 4 of the event.
It will make the city a focal point on the international racing calendar, with more than 200 elite riders from more than 30 countries set to travel to the Goulburn Valley.
The announcement comes as the city hosts the 2026 GWM BMX Racing National Championships at its recently upgraded facility, which features improved velodrome lighting, a two-storey multi-use events pavilion and track enhancements.
The World Cup event will draw visitors from around the globe, providing a major economic boost to businesses in the region.
The event will also deliver a vibrant festival atmosphere for riders, fans and the local community, with a host of activities planned to celebrate BMX culture and participation.
The Shepparton BMX Track and Cycling Precinct upgrade was the first project to be completed from the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, giving this northern Victorian city world-class cycling facilities.
