Spread the word (stakeholder kit)
Community sport should be a place where everyone feels welcome, safe and respected. The assets below can help clubs, players, volunteers and families learn about building inclusive environments and respond to hate and discrimination when it occurs.
Guidance for managing social media content
This campaign includes spokespeople and themes about racism. Your social media channel must have clear moderation and monitoring processes in place. This will help protect the spokespeople and staff from exposure to racist and harmful comments and organised trolling events.
We recommend you:
- include a content warning to alert your audience to the content of your post, i.e: ‘Content warning: This material contains explicit mentions of racism’
- post to your channel when you can actively moderate comments
- disable comments when you cannot moderate posts
- delete racist or harmful comments and block users as needed.
Find detailed guidance on monitoring your social media on Victorian Government Social Media Operational Guidelines.
Guidance for responding to questions is also outlined in the stakeholder kit guide.
