The Government's Change Our Game Finance for Non-Financial Managers Pilot Program is designed to support women leaders in sport to enhance their financial management skills – which are critical for success at the executive level in sport management.
The three-day training program is being delivered by the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation in partnership with Melbourne Business School and is specifically designed to support and empower women to progress their sports management careers.
One successful applicant is Stephanie Millar, currently Operations Manager at Calisthenics Victoria. Ms Millar is hopeful the course will enhance her prospects of Board positions at sports organisations.
“I’m really looking forward to the opportunity to learn new skills, which will help push my career to the next level," Ms Miller said.
The training will focus on the fundamentals of financial management and budgeting, accounting, risk assessment, contract management and planning to help the women advance their careers.
