Opening Week at the 2026 Australian Open was the biggest in history!

217,999 fans came through the gates for all the qualifying action at Melbourne Park.

Included in Opening Week was kids go free day, a massive line up live music, delicious food and drink and 4 nights of charity matches.

Fans watch tennis on the big screen at Melbourne Park's Grand Slam Oval.

There was a thrilling 1 Point Slam which saw amateur Jordan Smith going against the big guns, including Jannik Sinner, to win the $1 million.

Tennis fans are able to enjoy changes to the precinct that provide enhanced tennis viewing, shade and more grandstand seating.

Last year the Australian Open created more than 2,700 full-time jobs and put Melbourne Park on the world stage, reaching more than 1.9 billion people.

Our near $1 billion investment in the Melbourne Park precinct has helped the Australian Open generate more than $3.46 billion for the Victorian economy over the last 10 years and has ensured the event remains in Melbourne until at least 2046.
