Signing up for Get Active Victoria is free and is available all year round.
From 5-11 September, Get Active Victoria is running ‘Get Active Week’ to help celebrate the ways Victorians can make small moments in their day for movement. Getting 30 minutes of daily physical activity is easier than you think, and small blocks of everyday activity can quickly add up.
Get Active Week is all about encouraging people to break exercise down into achievable, bite-size blocks of time. Get ready to ‘make your moments’ as we bring you a range of exciting activities, tips, and giveaways to help you and your community get your body moving more. All content will be exclusively available via the campaign website - it is free to participate, you just have to sign up!
From beginner hip hop to a juggling challenge, the Get Active Victoria website provides workouts, challenges and tools to motivate and support Victorian families. There are workouts for all levels that range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes with little or no equipment needed. Participants can choose from activities that involve strength building, cardio, flexibility, low impact, yoga and more.
After joining, an activity tracker and goal setter allows participants to monitor how much activity they are doing each day, and online teams can be created to maintain motivation. Get Active Victoria is a great way to connect with family and friends and support each other.
A feature called Places is a convenient and detailed go-to guide for Victorians to discover walks, trails, playgrounds, skateparks, parks and exercise stations in their local areas. Through an interactive map and suburb search, users will be able to explore a selection of the most popular active places in Victoria. The feature provides amenity information (toilets, seating, parking, paved areas, hydration, shade, dogs permitted, lighting etc) and the trail distance for each location listed.
The new Get Active Victoria mobile app makes it easy to step into everyday activity and gain access to your account on the go. Featuring all the exclusive content from the website, users can also track their daily activity with the Timer, schedule their workouts ahead of the week in the Planner and receive alerts and notifications for encouragement.
