The designs for the transformation of St Kilda’s iconic Junction Oval into the new home of Victorian cricket are now out.
The $40 million development will establish the new Victorian Cricket and Community Centre and will secure the future of cricket in this state.
The centre will bring Cricket Victoria’s high performance, administrative, development and training programs into one top-class location.
Once complete, the project will provide a second ICC-compliant first-class cricket ground for Melbourne, making it a great venue for hosting Sheffield Shield matches.
The Victorian Government provided $25 million towards the project with Cricket Victoria contributing $6 million and Cricket Australia $4 million. It will also become a vibrant cricket hub, providing great facilities for female, Indigenous, and all-abilities cricket development and a training centre for regional players and coaches.
