Helping volunteers set their own pace

The platform is part of the Valley Sport's Club Hubs program, one of 12 new initiatives backed by our Sustainable Volunteer Workforce Program.

Through the Club Hubs program, Valley Sport provides hands-on support to help clubs like the Shepparton Runners Club identify suitable technology solutions, set them up and build the skills and confidence needed to use them .

For many volunteer-run clubs, finding and implementing new digital systems can be challenging.

That’s why Valley Sport have worked closely with the Club to roll out the new digital committee management portal, providing practical support and guidance to help volunteers adopt new ways of working.

The online board and committee management portal streamlines administration and governance tasks.

It allows clubs like Shepparton to better prepare meeting documentation, track actions, document decisions, meeting minutes and it also brings committee functions into one central location.

It also acts as a central hub for vital club information and strategies relating to managing volunteers, applying for grants, running meetings, child safety, and event coordination.

The new digital platform, is now an integral part of the running of the Shepparton Runners Club, allowing volunteers like new committee members the chance to get up to speed more quickly.

By reducing time spent on committee tasks, volunteers can focus more on supporting members, planning activities, and building connections within their club and community.

Shepparton Runners Club President Chris Nicholson said the platform had already made a noticeable difference to the club's operations.

Valley Sport Chief Executive Officer Megan Carr said the initiative was helping clubs throughout the Goulburn Valley region create more sustainable volunteer environments.
