Victorian sport is increasingly confronting integrity and reputational threats relating to child safeguarding, member protection, match fixing, performance enhancing drugs, sports gambling and inappropriate behaviours of those involved in sport.
The Victorian Integrity in Sport Action Plan addresses risks and sets out clear strategies for the Victorian Government to support safe and fair integrity practices in the state through the delivery of five key actions:
- Embedding an integrity culture in sport
- Developing and maintaining key integrity partnerships with state and commonwealth organisations to promote best practice integrity systems, policies, and processes
- Leveraging the expertise of the Victorian Sport Integrity Network
- Delivering an annual Sporting Integrity Symposium
- Provision of sport integrity advice and referrals.
The Plan builds on the foundations of the Fair Play Code for sport and active recreation.
