Victoria’s athletes come from all corners of the state and often have to travel long distances to train or compete.
These grants help remove the barrier of travel and accommodation costs, making participation in sport at the top level more affordable for families.
The Athlete Pathway Travel Grants Program has provided 404 successful applicants from over 60 different sports across the state a share in more than $819,000.
State sporting associations can apply for grants of up to $6000 for teams, or $2000 for individual athletes for travel to compete at national championships or selection trials.
Clubs can also apply for up to two grants per funding round of $750 each to assist athletes, coaches, officials and teams with the travel costs of training and competition.
Applications are now open and close on Thursday 23 February 2017. For more information go to the Athlete Pathway Travel Grants Program
