This community activations program is designed to support the delivery of sector initiatives that bring together communities, showcase female participation and further gender equality through sport and active recreation.
Grants of up to $5,000 will be available to eligible clubs and community groups across Victoria and will establish opportunity for women and girls at the grassroots level to enable them to achieve their full potential both on and off the court.
The second round of the program follows on from a very successful first round earlier in the year, 22 community sport organisations received a total of $98,000 in grants and those programs are all currently underway.
Head, Office for Women in Sport and Recreation, Dr Bridie O’Donnell welcomed the announcement.
“The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants underpin our entire strategy. We know that first experiences often shape future involvement in sport and recreation for women and girls so it’s imperative we are able to create an experience that fosters a lifetime of rewarding and recognised involvement.”
The Change Our Game Community Activation Grant program is one of a number of programs that highlight the government taking action to ensure a level playing field exists for women and girls across the Victorian sport and active recreation sector.
