Grants to breathe new life into community sports facilities
Published: 28 October 2024We’re ramping up our investment into regional and metropolitan communities looking to upgrade or build new local swimming pools, women and girls’ change rooms, play spaces, sport courts, fields, lights and pavilions.
Applications are now open for Round 2 of the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF) and the 2024-25 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund to help local communities plan, design and build the sports facilities they need.
The 5 funding streams in the RCSIF will help regional communities plan and build everything from indoor stadiums and aquatic facilities, facilities for women and girls, community facilities, and all abilities infrastructure to encourage more people to get involved.
Additional grants of up to $50,000 are also available through the RCSIF to help boost participation for people with disability at new or upgraded facilities.
The RCSIF is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund and the All Abilities Sport Fund and since the first round of the program opened has invested more than $20 million in 26 infrastructure projects.
Through the 2024-25 LSIF, metropolitan communities can seek funds towards a range of community sports infrastructure and active recreation projects including sports courts, lights, change rooms, play spaces, and skate parks, to benefit local clubs and communities.
The fund has 3 funding streams including Community Facilities, Community Sports Lighting, and Planning.
Only Victorian LGAs can apply directly to both funds, which open Monday 28 October 2024. The 2024-25 LSIF closes on 17 February 2025 and RCSIF – Round 2 closes on 17 March 2025.
