Active April Ambassadors including AFL Women’s Carlton start Darcy Vescio and Nine News presenter Madeline Slattery today launched the final countdown to the start of the campaign. They were joined by students from Richmond West Primary School and seniors from Melbourne Sport and Aquatic Centre’s WYSER group, coming together to demonstrate a range of exercise that are suitable for all generations and fitness levels.
Active April ambassador Darcy Vescio said she was excited to be part of a campaign encouraging individuals to overcome barriers to physical activity.
“Active April is a great opportunity for Victorians to find adjustments in their daily routine to increase their physical activity, whether that’s going for a walk with friends or family or signing up for a new sport or group class you have always wanted to try.”
Now in its 11th year, Premier’s Active April is a Victorian Government initiative to promote healthy and active lifestyles by encouraging Victorians to participate in 30 minutes of exercise a day.
With a range of activities hosted throughout the month, individuals, families, schools and workplaces can get involved. Why not set up a team?
Registration is free and Victorians can sign up until 30 April by visiting activeapril.vic.gov.au.
