Grants of up to $1000 are available to clubs across Victoria to buy new team uniforms or equipment.
In addition, grants of up to $2000 are also available to expand the skills of coaches and officials, and clubs can receive up to $5000 for initiatives that strengthen their operations and sustainability.
The new Aboriginal Participation category specifically focuses on clubs and organisations looking to increase participation in sport and active recreation by Aboriginal Victorians.
As well as the above, there are also grants to support travel and accommodation costs over a 12 month period for athletes, coaches, officials or teams that are required to travel to train or compete – whether it’s their local competition or an Aboriginal sporting festival.
So far the Sporting Club Grants Program has kicked in over $2.8 million, to help 2131 successful applicants from over 60 different sport and recreation organisations across the state.
The Sporting Club Grants Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to make sport more accessible and inclusive, increase local participation, stimulate local economies, and build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities. .
