The construction of the final 1.3 km trail link between Park and Heads Roads in Donvale, forms the new 18.5 km Mullum Mullum Trail which weaves through the Mullum Mullum Creek valley from Templestowe and connects to the EastLink Trail in Donvale.

Along the trail, walkers and riders alike can follow the Mullum Mullum Creek corridor which passes through Carrawong Bush Park Sanctuary, bush and wetlands featuring tawny frogmouth, cockatoos, butcher birds, koalas, platypus and wildflowers, and local reserves with picnic areas.

The trail also provides an alternative route for cyclists keen to avoid busy roads whilst enjoying some of the best urban natural scenery in the heart of the metropolitan Melbourne.

The Mullum Mullum Creek Trail connects to the Koonung, EastLink and Main Yarra Trails and is expected to boost the journeys a week by commuters, recreational cyclists and joggers on these trails.

The launch of the new trail follows the recent opening of the new Mullum Mullum Indoor Stadium at Donvale, also made possible thanks to a $650,000 grant from the Victorian Government.

The Victorian Government is getting on with the job of helping communities all over Victoria replace and update tired grounds and trails so they can cater for growing demand through the $180 million Community Sports Infrastructure Fund.

Across Victoria we’re investing almost half a billion dollars in our 2018/19 Budget to ensure sport and active recreation goes from strength to strength.
