The third round of the Defibrillators for Sporting Clubs and Facilities Program is now open which means Victorian sports clubs have another chance to apply for a new defibrillator and help save the lives of players, volunteers or spectators who suffer a sudden cardiac arrest. 

The program is a great opportunity for Victorian sports clubs to boost their CPR skills, improve planning for medical emergencies and ensure players and spectators suffering sudden cardiac arrest get help until paramedics arrive.

So far we have delivered nearly 600 defibrillators to clubs representing more than 50 different sports but there are still over 400 defibrillators and training packages still up for grabs.

In particular, clubs in the booming outer metro suburbs and districts including Hume, Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Ranges where record numbers of people are joining up, are being urged to apply.

Defibrillators are a vital link in the chain of survival, and along with CPR, give people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest the best chance of living.

Sporting clubs who already have a defibrillator are encouraged to register them with Ambulance Victoria.

Along with recognised sporting clubs, peak and state sport and recreation bodies can also now apply.
