Of these, $18,000 has helped clubs such as Taylors Lake Football and Netball Club and Charlton Bowling Club in drought-affected areas to maintain community connections, promote positive mental health and wellbeing, and build resilience.

The good news is there’s more to come.

The next announcement of successful recipients of the grants will be made in October 2017 and there’s additional funding rolled in to help clubs and sports create more opportunities for Aboriginal Victorians to get active and help increase their participation in sport and recreation. 

The Sporting Club Grants Program provides vital funding that continues to help clubs and sporting organisations offer more Victorians the opportunity to participate and learn new skills through sport and recreation.

Grants of up to $1,000 are available for clubs to buy new sports uniforms and equipment, as well as funding up to $2,000 to expand the skills of coaches and officials, and up to $5,000 for sports organisations to invest in initiatives that improve their operation and sustainability.

It’s all part of Victorian Government’s commitment towards the health and wellbeing of all Victorians and making a difference through sport and recreation.

The next round of the Sporting Club Grants Program opens on 27 November 2017.
