Aussie rules football is more popular than ever with thousands of participants state-wide each week, that’s why the Victorian Government is getting on with delivering the accessible, safe and modern facilities our growing communities deserve.
The current dim lights have meant shorter training times, overuse of certain sections of the ground and less opportunity for the clubs’ male and female teams to utilise the whole ground safely, especially during twilight training.
Once complete, the new brighter LED lights will provide more reach across the oval and ground time for teams to train and play.
This project is one of over 90 to score a boost from the Community Sports Infrastructure Fund that recently received a $60 million boost in the Victorian Budget 2018/19.
Across Victoria the Victorian Government has invested more than $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities, and earlier this year we provided almost half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget to support sport and active recreation at all levels.
Project partners include Banyule City Council who also kicked in $150,000.
