Trentham Football Netball Club’s new female friendly netball facility replaces an ageing shelter with modern facilities able to cope with local growth and retain members, thanks to $100,000 funding from the government’s Country Football and Netball Program.
The Daylesford and Hepburn United Soccer Club’s pavilion at Victoria Park has also been upgraded to support strong growth in female players. It includes two female friendly change rooms and showers, accessible public toilets, baby change facilities, a first aid area and office space.
Membership at the Hepburn Football Netball Club has grown to more than 140 in recent years, however the existing facilities failed to meet modern standards.
The new facility includes two female friendly change rooms, umpire amenities, accessible public toilets, baby change facilities, storage and first aid areas.
Malmsbury Cricket Ground has also had a $100,000 upgrade which includes three new cricket practise nets. The club is gearing up to expand and welcome female players.
Construction is also starting which will redevelop the existing skate park in Daylesford.
The Victorian Government is investing $240,000 towards a modern, challenging and accessible facility featuring a new skate bowl, jumps and tricks section, basketball ring area, seating, shade, all access footpath and landscaping.
The Victorian Government is partnering Hepburn Shire Council and Macedon Shire Council in their respective projects, with the communities of these areas also chipping in through fundraising and in-kind support.
