Recruiting and retaining sufficient coaches and officials is critical for the development of sustainable sports and clubs within Victoria. Many coaches and officials work in a volunteer capacity and their retention should be a priority for these organisations.
Within Victoria, State Sporting Associations, through their recognised National Sporting Organisations, are eligible to adopt the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) and National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS), published by the Australian Sports Commission. These programs are designed to support the education and development of coaches and officials through a competency based training and a nationally recognised accreditation.
For more information on coaching and officiating, including instruction on how to become an accredited coach or official, please contact your local club or State Sporting Association.
More information on the Australian Sports Commission’s NCAS and NOAS can be found on the Ausport website Coaching and officiating development page.
