Female sports are booming in Victoria, with netball leading the charge. There’s the new Suncorp Super Netball competition and now more than 300,000 players across the State.
The new Darebin courts feature a new acrylic surface for players, wider run-off areas, spectator seating and shelter and line markings for tennis. These will complement the existing indoor courts at the centre creating the perfect base for Darebin Netball Association to host netball events and run training programs to unearth the next Superleague player.
Local students will also benefit from the refurbishment of the outdoor netball courts at Reservoir High School.
The project is funded through the Inner City Netball Program and delivered by the Victorian School Building Authority.
What better way to inspire more locals to play sport and unearth the next elite Aussie champion.
These courts are the first of 64 that are being rolled out throughout inner-Melbourne courtesy of the Inner City Netball Program, ensuring nobody is turned away from playing the game they love.
