The Marshall Bears are a leading club in the Belmont area, and are ahead of the game when it comes to embracing and promoting female players and all-abilities participation.

The ground and rooms are also used by the Geelong Cricket Association for its junior program and matches, however a lack of training facilities has held back many players from honing their skills and reaching their potential.

The project will deliver a new training hub including four turf wickets, four hard wickets, netting, run-ups and a storage facility at the reserve.

The funding is part of the Victorian Government’s strong commitment to sports and active recreation, and to encourage all Victorians to get out there and get active.

Across Victoria we've invested more than $420 million in community sport and recreation facilities, and earlier this year provided almost half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to support sport and active recreation at all levels.

Project partners include the Marshall Cricket Club who stumped up $12,000.
