The Gender Equality in Sport and Recreation Program provides grants to organisations to deliver gender equality, cultural change initiatives in sport and recreation settings, which contribute to the prevention of violence against women in Victoria.
The Gender Equality in Victorian Sport and Recreation Pilot Program (the Pilot Program) is a Victorian Government initiative that provides grants to assist sport and recreation organisations, local government and women’s health organisations to deliver initiatives that align to the Victorian Government’s priorities of:
Preventing violence against women
Building inclusive sport and recreation environments that support women and girls to play and be involved in the sports they love in a safe, supportive and empowering environment.
Any organisation that can demonstrate they have a strong relationship with a sport and recreation club, league, or community sport and recreation group and have the capacity to deliver initiatives in sport and recreation settings is eligible to apply.
This may include, but is not limited to:
State Sporting Associations
National Sporting Organisations
Regional Sports Assemblies
Community and Women’s Health organisations
Other not for profit organisations.
It is anticipated that successful applicants will partner with other organisations to deliver initiatives that align with the Program Design Principles.
